'Open my glade' was exhibited in Times square New York biggest advertising urban flux zone.


in the film Rist flattens her face against the screen as if she wants to break out and come down into the square. the flatten face looks very needy and more and more deformed as her makeup smears across the glass.

In a space that is usually rented for advertising industries and is therefore normally used in a very homogeneous way, were thousands of industries are 'trying to be different' to attract your attention, this work of Rist had to have no commercial intent behind it to 'be different' and provoke a distant reflection on society.

Rist out of focus frantically dances topless singing in a desperate warped speed up high pitch voice "I'm not the girl who misses much". The line is repeated again and again. This work of Rist is perhaps a depressing critical reflection of contemporary pop culture and also a comment of the portrayal of women in music videos.
